The Communications Specialist publishes the Commission Members in Action (CMIA) summaries. The candidate is responsible for drafting, developing and publishing the BHC quarterly newsletter, BHC annual reports, the annual BHC Calendar, and other BHC reports as required. Posts daily updates to the website. Edits technical reports as required and maintains an up-to-date media directory of all key radio, television, and print media in the border region in both the U.S. and Mexico. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in communications, public affairs or other public relations
- Proficiency and extensive operating knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite programs and presentation software
- Bachelors degree in Journalism, English or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Seven years of directly related experience in public relations, communications or public affairs
- Extensive experience in writing, publishing and promotion of public information.
- Extensive experience in a public relations role and extensive experience in all facets of publication, printing and communications.
- Spanish Bilingual prefered - read, write and translate.
- Masters degree in Journalism, English, or other related field.
