Transportation Safety Analysis
MSA provides expertise in the application of systems and
management principles to improve the capabilities of transportation
agencies to meet their safety, security and emergency preparedness
goals and objectives. MSA program managers and analysts
work closely with the Federal Transit Agency’s (FTA) Office
of Safety and Security to:
- Evaluate the development and implementation of state
safety oversight and rail transit agency safety and
security programs
- Identify, develop and deliver technical assistance
to guide state and rail transit agency program development
and implementation
- Respond to industry and government inquiries and needs
related to FTA safety and security program implementation
- Identify program development activities including
the identification of outcomes and program performance
measures · Develop safety action plans
- Coordinate with other government programs to ensure
a systems approach to delivery of the safety and security
program
